SVOLT Energy Technology Co Ltd's Taizhou branch – located in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province – is on the path to becoming a benchmark enterprise for lithium-ion batteries, under the leadership of factory manager Zhang Jianxin.
SVOLT, developed from the battery division of auto manufacturer Great Wall Motor Co Ltd, is a global high-tech company that specializes in developing and producing vehicle batteries and energy storage.
SVOLT was established in 2018 and is headquartered in Changzhou city, Jiangsu province.
In July 2020, Zhang was appointed as factory manager – responsible for the construction of new plants, site planning, equipment management, process layout and other work.
His efforts resulted in a significantly improved performance in mass production and the delivery of over 20 types of auto models.
Having settled in the Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone and taking advantage of the vigorous development of the new energy vehicle and parts industry there, the Taizhou branch now has an annual production capacity of 100,000 units and an annual output value of 2 billion yuan ($275.22 million).
A mature supply chain system is crucial for an enterprise's development, Zhang said. As a result, he promoted the establishment of such a system to ensure the efficient and timely supply of materials.
With the increase in product varieties and the surge in the quantity of orders from customers, warehousing costs remained high.
In response, Zhang adopted a recycled wooden box packaging and storage system, which can now achieve monthly packaging of over 1,200 units – saving over 1.5 million yuan in storage costs.
