Two engineering research centers – located in the Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – recently received official recognition.
They were designated as provincial-level engineering research centers after being approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology.
Enterprise engineering research centers are seen as being important platforms for businesses to conduct engineering technology research, testing and complete technical services – as well as to promote the commercialization of R&D achievements.
One of those just recognized in the Taizhou Port EDZ is an aviation safety fastener engineering research center, operated by Taizhou Runjie Logistics Safety Equipment Science and Technology Co Ltd.

The center focuses on developing technologies for integrated, lightweight, intelligent and efficient automotive hub-bearing units – to achieve the upgrading of automotive hub-bearing units. It aims to shorten the gap with advanced foreign centers and accelerate the development of the automotive hub-bearing unit industry.
Overall, in recent years, the Taizhou Port EDZ has continued to support large and medium-sized enterprises to establish research and development institutions at or above the provincial level.
It has also moved to increase investment in project development, talent introduction, research and development investment and industry-university-research cooperation.
