A project that aims to develop a real-time parathyroid gland detection system conducted by Jiangsu Baining Yingchuang Medical Technology Co Ltd has been recognized as a key research and development project in East China's Jiangsu province.
Situated in the Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone in Taizhou city, the company will receive special science and technology funding for its project development, granted by the province.
The detection system will assist clinical doctors in quickly and accurately locating the parathyroid gland, thus reducing the risk of it having to be removed.
The project is of great significance in improving the quality of life of patients undergoing thyroid and related surgeries.
Last year, resident companies in the zone were granted 15.81 million yuan ($2.2 million) by the city. The funds helped stimulate the innovative capacity of said companies.
