The Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone, also known as Gaogang district - located in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province - has been busy upgrading Taizhou Port.
To make it into a first-class international facility, Taizhou Port has been upgrading its core port area, with a total investment of 2.45 billion yuan ($354.34 million). At present, the project progress has completed 80 percent of the work.
Selected as a provincial major project in the current year, the project includes a grain trading center, the comprehensive upgrading of Taizhou Port in the third phase and highway construction as the three main sub projects.

The grain transfer wharf at Taizhou Port is the largest one in the city. In August 2022, operator Taizhou Yong'an Port Affairs Co Ltd invested some 650 million yuan in upgrading its port berths.
It aims to install 15,000-ton and 3000-ton berths and to construct support equipment for grain loading, unloading and consignments.
All the Taizhou Port projects in the core area are scheduled to be completed and start operating by the end of the current year.
The upgrading of the core area will also boost key related companies such as LONGi Solar Technology (Taizhou) Co Ltd, Lens Precision (Taizhou) Co Ltd and the Taizhou Branch of Great Wall Automobile Co Ltd.
