Officials of Taixing city – administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – visited the Taixing High-tech Zone on Oct 27 to inspect the construction progress of major projects in the zone.
They visited the construction site of the zone's efficient solar photovoltaic cell project, a two-phase project operated by Popsolar New Energy Technology (Taixing) Co Ltd.
In the first phase, factories covering 46,000 square meters were used to produce ultra-efficient N-type photovoltaic cells. This phase also features several high-tech equipment, such as advanced low-pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD) and boron diffusion equipment, as well as self-developed laser SE equipment.
The first phase of the project launched its products in May. It has set a record for the fastest production and construction in its field.
The second phase of this project, eight 4GW production lines, is planned to start construction in June 2024.
By 2025, the company is expected to have an annual production capacity of 6GW of ultra-efficient N-type photovoltaic cells.
