Through the implementation of a series of projects, manufacturer SP Chemicals (Taixing) – located in the Taixing Economic Development Zone in Taixing city, in East China's Jiangsu province – is leading the development of new chemical materials and high value-added chemicals.
Costing 3.3 billion yuan ($461.70 million), the company's new propane dehydrogenation to propylene project is undergoing the installation of equipment and steel structures.
"The project is currently under orderly construction and is expected to start testing in December 2025 and on completion is expected to generate annual sales revenue of 5 billion yuan," said Xu Jie, regional head of the project.
Another project of the company is projected to produce 500,000 metric tons of polyvinyl chloride annually.
As the equipment installation nears completion, construction workers are sprinting towards the project's end.
The production line of the project will use ethylene polymerization technology to prepare polyvinyl chloride, boasting the advantages of high resource utilization efficiency, good environmental performances, easy control of the production process and large-scale output.
"The raw material for the polyvinyl chloride project is our company's vinyl chloride, which greatly extends the industrial supply chain," said Zhu Jinghan, project manager of the polyvinyl chloride plant.
The polyvinyl chloride project is scheduled to be completed in October this year.
Wang Xiaohua, general manager of the company's development and research center, said that after several expansions, the company was now equipped with multiple world-class chemical plants, driving the development of over 80 enterprises in the Taixing EDZ.
