The Taixing Economic Development Zone in Taixing city, held an investment promotions conference in Suzhou city – both located in East China's Jiangsu province – on July 12.
At the event EDZ officials recommended the zone as the preferred location for chemical enterprises to invest in the Yangtze River Delta.
Zhu Weixiang, secretary of the zone's Party working committee, said that in recent years the EDZ had focused on high-end, intelligent, and green directions. As a result, it had vigorously promoted the diversification of its basic chemical industry into the fine chemical industry, expanded into new chemical materials and moved along new materials.
Pan Mingrong, deputy secretary of the zone's Party working committee, presented the EDZ's competitive advantages to the conference – from its strong industrial foundations, excellent sci-tech innovations system, to its strong functional support facilities.
In addition, the zone's efforts in deepening its opening-up to the outside world, especially its cooperation with Japan, were also presented as a big plus during the conference.
The establishment of China-Japan (Taixing) New Materials Industrial Park in the zone was cited as a direct result, which has seen the settlement of over 10 Japanese-funded enterprises in Taixing.
Zhu expressed his hope that the event would foster the development of a number of new industrial technology projects and the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.
