Forty industry clusters were recently honored as 2024 Jiangsu Province Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Characteristic Industry Clusters, with one included from the Taixing Economic Development in Taixing city, located in East China's Jiangsu province.
The Taixing EDZ in question is a low-carbon olefin extended functional materials industry cluster.
In recent years, the Taixing EDZ has followed the development of the chlor-alkali and olefin industry supply chains and continued to foster the transformation and upgrading of the fine chemicals industry to the new materials industry.
The low carbon olefin extended functional materials industry cluster there has attracted 94 business enterprises in all.
In 2023, the total industrial output value of the cluster exceeded 90 billion yuan ($12.39 billion), with leading industries accounting for over 70 percent of that.
As key carriers for boosting the high-quality development of small and medium-sized enterprise, SME industrial clusters unite the businesses and promote their professional, distinctive and intensive development thereby enhancing the overall competitiveness of industrial clusters.
These model clusters are seen as having a demonstration influence on stimulating innovation and entrepreneurial vitality. They help promote digital upgrading, accelerate green and low-carbon transformations, deepen open cooperation and enhance governance service capabilities, among other things.
