June has been declared national safety production month and the Taixing Economic Development Zone – located in Taixing city, in East China's Jiangsu province – has been doing its part.
It held a training activity on June 11 to enhance the safety awareness and emergency response capabilities of local employees.
More than 60 people from industries – such as chemicals and hazardous chemicals, hazardous waste and solid waste, as well as science and technology innovation – participated in the activity.
At the zone's chemical safety skills training base, participants watched a case video warning about safe production. Experts from the chemical safety industry interpreted the criteria for major accident hazards, in a bid to help trainees enhance their safety risk awareness.
In the experience area, trainees studied the operating essentials and precautions for labor protection equipment, electrical safety, avoidance of mechanical injuries, high-altitude operations, fire safety and more to master the operational skills of safety equipment.
At the training center, trainees carried out emergency drills – for emergencies such as fires and leaks – under the guidance of experts.
