Representatives from the Taixing Economic Development Zone – located in Taixing city, in East China's Jiangsu province – attended the 9th Bio-based Industry Conference and Exhibition in Shanghai on May 22-24.
The aim was to further promote the transformation and upgrading of the zone, enhance the sustainability of its development and seek new growth drivers.
Zhu Weixiang, secretary of the Party working committee of the zone, attended a strategic seminar on biotechnology and delivered a keynote speech.
Zhu said his zone was actively planning to enter the bio-based new materials industry and had initially established an industrial cluster represented by a group of high-tech enterprises in the field.
On day two, Gu Tiejun, deputy secretary of the zone's management committee, recommended the zone at the 9th Bio-based Industry Conference and Exhibition.
Many entrepreneurs, experts and academics stopped at the zone's exhibition stand to consult with staff, expressing their willingness to cooperate with the zone in the future.
The 9th Bio-based Industry Conference and Exhibition invited over 250 enterprises from home and abroad, involved in various stages of research and production of bio-based materials.
