The 2024 China Chemical Industry Park Sustainable Development Conference took place on April 11 in Taixing city – administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – attracting 1,200 participants.
The event was also broadcast to audiences internationally, with a total of over 12,000 online viewers.
Li Shousheng, president of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, or CPCIF, delivered a keynote speech – noting that in recent years the achievements of green and sustainable development in chemicals industry parks had been nothing short of remarkable.
Li added that the layout and structure of the parks had been significantly optimized, as well as improvements made to the levels of standardization, intelligence and green development.

Statistics showed that at end-March, there were 663 registered chemical industry parks nationwide.
Zhang Kun, the Taixing Party secretary, said that his city had firmly gone down the path of sustainable development of innovation, its supply chain and its green development.
Furthermore, great efforts have been made by the city to focus on its project construction, innovative industry development and low carbon transformation.
Overall, by focusing on green production and manufacturing, low-carbon energy utilization and safety and environmental protection, Taixing as a city is committed to promoting the construction of green industry parks and its low-carbon industry transformation.
