Binjiang town in Taixing city – situated in East China's Jiangsu province – held an opening ceremony for its second strawberry festival on Jan 7, with a delightful number of strawberry-related activities on hand.
The activities included performances about the strawberry industry, an exhibition and on-site sales of strawberry products, as well as livestreaming sales of agricultural and sideline products.
Currently, Binjiang has 2,300 mu (153 hectares) of high-quality strawberries under cultivation, including prized species such as Hongyan, Ningyu, and Jinling Lifeng strawberries.
At the opening ceremony, Goldios Group in Henan province signed an agreement with Binjiang town for a bean sprouts vegetable project.
Focused on building a "strawberry town", Binjiang engaged in a raft of agriculture projects to that end in 2023. It attracted eight major agricultural projects last year, including three projects worth over 50 million ($7 million) yuan each.
Last year, the town's collective economy generated operating income of 43.28 million yuan. The town was also honored as an advanced collective for rural vitalization in Taizhou.
