The city of Taixing – administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – is ramping up its trading of green electricity.
The green electricity trading mechanism is an important way to promote the sustainable development of renewable energy.
Since the launch of the national green electricity trading pilot in September 2021, the cumulative green electricity settlement volume in Taixing had exceeded 300 million kilowatt hours as of the end of August, making it the first county-level city in the province to hit the number.
This was the result of Taixing carrying out the national green electricity trading pilot program, which is an important way to promote the sustainable development of renewable energy.
Based on the needs for green and low-carbon development of enterprises, Taixing has actively promoted their participation in green electricity trading work.
At the end of last year, Taixing had an installed capacity of 146,000 kilowatts of new energy power generation, accounting for 12.54 percent of total power generation.
Its settlement amount of green electricity reached 174 million kWh during the period, accounting for 7.6 percent of the province and 55.4 percent of Taizhou city.
