Significant progress has recently been made in the new energy ship smart manufacturing project operated by New Times Shipbuilding, a leading shipbuilding company in Jingjiang, Jiangsu province.
The 1,600-metric-ton gantry crane supporting the #4 dock has now entered the lifting, installation, and commissioning phase, marking a new breakthrough in the company's heavy-lift capacity for shipbuilding.

The project is a key initiative for the company, aimed at seizing development opportunities in the green shipbuilding sector. The company plans to build new docks, wharves, intelligent manufacturing workshops, and intelligent processing centers for pipe outfitting components, as well as acquire equipment for intelligent processes and large intelligent gantry cranes.
After the project is put into operation, it will help the enterprise expand production capacity and enhance production efficiency.
As the project progresses, the design, manufacturing, and overall assembly of the 1,600-ton and 1,000-ton gantry cranes for the #4 dock have already begun.

The 1,000-ton gantry crane began its lifting operations on Sept 21 and, after more than two months, successfully completed all scheduled test projects. It passed the type test and supervisory inspections with excellent performance on its first attempt.
The successive commissioning of these two large gantry cranes is expected to enhance the company's lifting capacity for the assembly and closure of large ship sections. This represents a strategically important step in enabling the company to take on orders for high-end ships and offshore engineering equipment.
