The first phase of the green, low carbon, and smart upgrade and renovation project of Yangtze River Port Terminal began construction on Dec 19.
The operator Yangtze River Port Group, located in Jingjiang, Taizhou, Jiangsu province, is a large public terminal enterprise under Jiangsu Port Group, with a coastline of 726 meters along the Yangtze River. The Jingjiang company has three 70,000-metric-ton Yangtze River berths and six kiloton harbor berths.
The company mainly undertakes the loading and unloading, warehousing and transit, domestic and international trade of bulk cargo such as coal, quartz sand, and ore. It has more than 100 trading customers and an annual cargo throughput of over 36 million tons.

With a total investment of 3 billion yuan ($428.06 million), the upgrade and renovation project will be implemented in two phases, focusing on improving the automation, ecological greening, and modern operation level of logistics in Yangtze River Port.
The first phase of the project will see an investment of 1.09 billion yuan for green and digital transformation, focusing on major tasks like upgrading the dock operation system, transforming the land yard, and developing a smart control system. The first phase is expected to be completed by December 2027.
