Gushan town of Chengbei Industrial Park within the Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone in the county-level city of Jingjiang, Taizhou, has implemented 111 projects to boost rural vitalization this year.
The projects involve industries, services, environment, and the well-being of local residents.
For instance, Gushan's Liandong village this year has channeled its resources to a rooftop photovoltaic project, aiming to develop the local collective economy.
The project boasts 1,100 PV panels on the rooftops of approximately 20,000 square meters of local industrial factories, which are expected to generate 615,600 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year once fully operational.
Another example is the shared vegetable garden in the town's Shiqiao village, which is being constructed to meet the ever-growing demands of urban residents who desire to experience a pastoral life.
Covering an area of 2,000 sq m, it consists of 37 plots which interested citizens can rent to cultivate vegetables.
The project marks a novel model of agricultural tourism, which not only extends the local agricultural industry chain, but also serves as a practical base for local students' labor courses.
