Private shipyard New Times Shipbuilding Co Ltd based in the county level city of Jingjiang – administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – participated in the five-day exhibition for the China Brand Day 2024 in East China's Shanghai, which kicked off on May 10.

According to the local reform and development commission, New Times was also the only company from Taizhou to showcase its technology at the Jiangsu exhibition area.

During the five-day event, the shipbuilder showcased a 111,000-deadweight tons (DWT) dual fuel powered oil tanker and a 210,000- DWT dual fuel powered bulk carrier, which were displayed on a virtual screen with sea wave special effects.

As two leading products of New Times, both the oil tanker and the bulk carrier are the fruit of the company's technological innovation.

The former not only has independent intellectual property rights, but is also the first Aframax dual-fuel product tanker in China. Compared with similar products, it saves fuel consumption by 8 percent and has reached internationally advanced levels in energy conservation, environmental protection and cost performance.

As the first key equipment from the province in 2023, the bulk carrier achieves zero carbon operation throughout its entire life cycle thanks to an innovative design in ammonia fuel reservation.

Launched in 2017, the expo is said to comprehensively present China's achievements that are in development from multiple perspectives.
