Manufacturer Jingjiang Yourshine Optoelectronics Technology Co Ltd, based in the Jingjiang Northern Industrial Park, was conferred with the title of national "little giant" on July 14.
That honor for the group, whose premises are in the park – which is situated in the Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – makes it the first one there to be recognized as such.
Little giant firms represent the elite of small and medium-sized enterprises that specialize in a niche market, boast cutting-edge technologies and show great potential.
Established in 1998, Yourshine is a private high-tech enterprise specializing in the design, development, manufacturing and sales of LED side-illuminated backlights.
Backlights are employed in small displays to increase readability in low light conditions and are utilized in cars, smart phones, computer displays and LCD televisions.
The company has established long-term supply deals with leading groups such as Sharp, JDI and Denso and its automotive backlights are widely used in popular car brands.
With a focus on vehicle displays, Yourshine has secured over 35 percent of the market share in automotive backlights.
In recent years, Jingjiang Northern Industrial Park has been actively promoting the cultivation and development of small and medium-sized enterprises, resulting in the recognition of several provincial sophisticated and specialized businesses.
Moreover, a total of 76 innovative SMEs in the park – in industries such as equipment manufacturing, auto parts and new electronics materials – have been identified and nurtured.
