Groundbreaking ceremonies were held on Feb 10 marking the start of construction for 38 major projects in the Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone – a national development zone located in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – as well as two industrial parks in the zone, with a total investment of more than 26 billion yuan ($3.80 billion).
Among them, 14 projects costing 11.5 billion yuan in the Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone covered such fields as metal materials, equipment manufacturing, grain- and oil-processing.

With a total investment of over 8 billion yuan, eight of the projects broke ground in the Jingjiang Southern Industrial Park, covering fields including new energy, the health industry, and high-end equipment manufacturing.
In Jingjiang Northern Industrial Park, some 16 projects got underway, costing nearly 6.5 billion yuan and involving precision manufacturing, health, electronic new materials, and other industrial fields.
When complete, these projects are expected to boost Jingjiang's transformation of traditional industries and accelerate the cultivation of industrial clusters.
