Jiangyan demonstrates strong momentum in high-quality economic, social development

In the first three quarters of 2024, the gross regional product of Jiangyan district reached 67.33 billion yuan ($9.23 billion), a 5.7-percent year-on-year increase. General public budget revenue also saw strong growth, rising by 6.7 percent and leading Taizhou.

In recent years, Jiangyan district has focused on high-end manufacturing, actively promoting industrial transformation and upgrading. It has continuously driven the development of emerging industries such as artificial intelligence, low-altitude aircraft, and precision shock absorption equipment.

Meanwhile, the district has fostered a number of enterprises with core competitiveness, focusing on four key sectors: oil and gas equipment, new energy equipment manufacturing, electronic information, and new materials. Leading companies such as Shuangdeng Group, Suzhong Pharma, Jiangsu Digital Eagle Technology Development Co, and Sino Semic have achieved significant results in cutting-edge fields like communication energy storage, biopharmaceuticals, low-altitude economy, and semiconductor chips.

Jiangyan has also taken various actions to support green and low-carbon transformation, intelligent transformation and digitalization in manufacturing, and the improvement of the foundry industry through policy support and financial incentives. These efforts encourage enterprises to continuously enhance their advanced production capacities. To date, Jiangyan has achieved 39 green benchmark honors at the provincial-level or higher, the most in Taizhou, and has implemented 961 intelligent and digital projects.

In terms of urban construction, Jiangyan district adheres to an eco-first approach, creating a livable and business-friendly urban environment. With the goal of becoming a "park city", it has renovated and laid out a number of pocket parks and urban green spaces, establishing itself as a "health and wellness city".

Jiangyan has also developed Qinhu Bay, a distinctive rural area covering 49.5 square kilometers around Qinhu Lake. The area includes five provincial characteristic rural villages, five provincial traditional villages, and seven provincial beautiful and harmonious villages, significantly improving local quality of life.
