Vast numbers of migratory birds have recently been spotted, swooping into the Qinhu National Wetland Park, located in Jiangyan district of Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province.

The wetland park is seen as being an important stop-off area for migratory birds in East Asia and is a fundamentally necessary route for bird migration.

Groups of migratory birds gather, including species of the Eurasian Teal, the Ruddy Shelduck, the Bar-headed Goose and the Grey Heron, making preparations for the long journey ahead.

"At present, more than 30 species and nearly 100,000 migratory birds have flown to the wetland park for winter, attracting crowds of tourists," said Hua Cheng, general manager of the education and communication center in the wetland park.

In recent years, the park has continued to enhance its wetland protection work to provide abundant food and suitable habitats for the avian visitors. It has improved the environment for the migratory birds through conservation and restoration and other measures, in a bid to attract more birds to come and reproduce.
