The Jiangyan district of Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – on June 18 convened the 2023 high-quality development review and the 2024 advancement promotions meeting.
Sun Liangliang, Party Secretary of the district committee and Qian Jun, the district's head delivered key speeches.
Sun emphasized the need for the district to acknowledge existing gaps, delve into their root causes and address issues such as a "weak sense of responsibility" and "ineffective work style" of some personnel.
She urged leaders of various departments to boost their coordination, consolidate their responsibilities and drive high-quality development forwards.
Sun also highlighted the importance of attracting high-value and high-tech manufacturing projects to ensure economic benefits. She also stressed the need to improve people's livelihoods, the quality of the environment and the business eco-system to promote common prosperity.
For his part, district head Qian underscored the central importance of economic construction – calling for enhanced industrial competitiveness, project support and technological innovation to ensure simultaneous improvements in scale and quality.
He urged functional departments at all levels to provide frontline services and for all sectors to ensure a thorough and effective execution of their various tasks.
The conference highlighted the theme of "leading the way and striving for the top" as the central focus for this year's initiatives – aiming to drive Jiangyan's modernization forwards with substantial achievements in high-quality development.
