The Jiangyan district of Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – recently unveiled a three-year action plan aimed at raising the standards of development, construction and governance of its rural sector.
The plan introduces eight specific initiatives, including coordinating the revitalization of rural areas, enhancing the rural living environment and boosting the quality and efficiency of rural industries.
Other initiatives involve modernizing rural infrastructure, integrating basic public services between urban and rural areas, improving the lot of residents and boosting things in villages, improving rural governance and fostering talent.
What's more, the plan outlines key objectives for 2024, which involve ensuring the steady production and supply of grains and essential agricultural products and increasing the incomes of farmers – as well as advancing rural industry development, construction and governance.
In line with the plan's directives, the district will prioritize establishing a health-focused food industry park and a provincial center for agricultural product processing demonstrations.
Additionally, it will establish and enhance a monitoring and promotions mechanism for significant agricultural and rural projects. Also on the agenda, it will intensify efforts to attract projects involving in-depth processing of agricultural products and expedite the implementation of ongoing projects.
The aim is to complete 32 provincial agricultural and rural projects by the end of the year, with an annual investment totaling 1.21 billion yuan ($167.66 million).
