The Jiangyan Economic Development Zone – located in the Jiangyan district of Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – was recently recognized nationally for its advancements in the security and emergency industry.
The announcement was made on Nov 30 in Foshan city, in South China's Guangdong province, at the 2023 China Security and Emergency Industry Conference.
The conference was organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Emergency Management, in collaboration with the Guangdong provincial government.
In 2019, the Jiangyan zone established the Taizhou Intelligent Safety and Emergency Industrial Park, with a focus on intelligent emergency equipment.

The park covers an area of 411 mu (27.4 hectares) and has a total investment of 1.6 billion yuan ($223.29 million). Its aim is to develop industrial clusters in firefighting, emergency medical supplies, emergency power supplies and safety and emergency equipment.
The park offers a wide range of products – including firefighting equipment, medical items, emergency water supply products, underground pipeline network repairs and maintenance gear, safety monitoring equipment and flame retardants and explosion-proof items.
The park has attracted leading safety and emergency enterprises – supporting their development and participating in industry expos and forums to boost its overall competitiveness.
Moving forwards, plans are in motion for the zone to continue to support the growth of its security and emergency industries and other strategic sectors – ensuring the resilience and security of the industry supply chain.
