Jiangyan agricultural products receive national accolade

Two agricultural products in Jiangyan district – located in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – recently made it into the second batch of a prestigious national list.

The Sanshui Double-Spore Mushroom and Dalun Mutton were placed on the national list of high-quality agricultural products.

The Sanshui Double-Spore Mushroom gained popularity due to its standardized production methods and it has been awarded national green food certification.

The history of Dalun Mutton dates back to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), with locally sourced goats providing tender meat with a wonderful taste.

While in the west mutton normally refers to the meat of sheep, particularly mature sheep, in South Asia where mutton curry is popular, the word "mutton" is used for both goat and lamb meat.

The mutton has gained recognition for its low-fat and low-cholesterol content, with a great flavor.

Jiangyan now boasts a total of five products included in the national list, placing the district at the forefront of agricultural excellence in Taizhou city.

Moving forwards, plans are for the Jiangyan district agriculture and rural affairs bureau to organize promotional activities to further enhance the brand awareness and influence of these products.
