Seven companies in the Jiangyan Economic Development Zone – located in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – have been put on a list of national-level "little giant" enterprises specializing in innovation and excellence.
They were selected by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, local media reported.
Currently, the development zone has a total of 11 national-level specialized and innovative little giant enterprises, as well as 19 provincial-level specialized and innovative enterprises.
It also has 23 municipal-level specialized and innovative products – along with 15 municipal-level, technology-based little giants.
National-level specialized and innovative little giants are valued because of their strong innovation capacity, promising growth prospects and superior quality and efficiency, as well as their mastery of key technologies.
They are often deeply involved in a specific sector or specialized products, becoming a little giant through tech innovation and intensive research and development investment.
Their pathfinding products occupy a high market share in their particular sub-industry.
The leaders of the development zone and various departments there have conducted a raft of on-site visits to these enterprises, assessing actual situations and development plans, in order to establish a reserve pool for cultivating specialized and innovative businesses.
The development zone is understood to be offering specific guidance tailored to different businesses, implementing pilot programs and strengthening policy communications by organizing over a dozen policy interpretation sessions.
What's more, it's provided diverse services, such as one-on-one coaching, to increase the awareness of businesses about beneficial policies and to boost their use of them.
