A "super factory" to be operated by CRRC – the world's largest supplier of rail transit equipment, with comprehensive product lines and leading technologies – is fast taking shape in the Jiangyan district of Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province.

The project, which covers an area of about 498 mu (33 hectares) and will cost 5 billion yuan ($690 million), is entering the final phase of completion.
With a total floor area of 107,700 square meters, the jumbo facility will be used for the research, manufacturing and maintenance of electric propulsion systems for ships, as well as elevator designs and customization services.
It will also provide open industrial design, technological innovation and cloud warehouse services for local small and medium-sized enterprises.
The buildings, with a height of 18 meters and a footprint of nearly 20,000 square meters each, are spacious and well-lit, boasting impressive steel beams and trusses.
Zhu Zhihao, the project's technical director, said that the factory was being built to the highest domestic standards, as well as employing advanced technology and top-quality materials for fireproof and corrosion-resistant structures.
The use of sliding and lifting construction techniques ensured both installation quality and efficiency, Zhu added.
