The 630-mu wheat field is designated as a provincial modern agricultural science and technology demonstration base. A group of agricultural experts decided the final result after harvesting, weighing and strictly measuring the moisture content of the seeds, among other things.
Farm owner Qin Guoxing said the yield per mu was approximately 25 kg more than that of last year.
Farmers in Jiangyan district have been busy harvesting wheat on about 438,300 mu of land, while Baimi town alone boasts 34,488 mu of wheat fields.
