Jiangyan district, Taizhou city recently started the first marine plastic recycling project in Jiangsu province and just finished business registration and leased 6,000 square meters of recycling plant space.
Jiangyan's bureau of ecology and environment actively sought the assistance of the pertinent higher-level departments with the intention of establishing the province's first project in its economic development zone.

Aimed at creating an innovative "blue cycle" with an internal driving force and sustainability, the project plans to integrate comprehensive marine ecological management and marine plastic recycling.
The "blue cycle" mode is said to rely on digital innovation and market-oriented ways to effectively solve the problems of the uncollected and difficult utilization of marine plastic waste.
Once completed, the project is expected to recycle 50,000 metric tons of marine plastic in Jiangsu province every year, which can reduce carbon emissions by at least 67,000 metric tons and provide carbon reduction raw material credits for textile and electronic appliance industries.
Currently, the Jiangyan ecology and environment bureau is taking the initiative to provide services for the marine plastic recycling project, which is projected to be completed and begin operations before the end of the year.
