The Jiangyan district of Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province held a conference on Feb 11 and unveiled 16 experimental projects for educational reform and innovation, to develop its education system to its full potential.
The projects are based on extensive research and discussions. They include changing teaching styles, cultivating innovative talent and developing special curriculums – aiming to boost the overall development of education in the district.
The conference also issued an action plan, three implementation plans as well as discussion documents, to action the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education.
Jiangyan district has promoted various educational reforms measures and invested a total of 3.38 billion yuan ($495.25 million) in education construction projects since the end of 2020.
Among the 35 new projects related to the education sector, 27 have been completed and are now operating.
Moreover, Jiangyan district is said to have taken the lead in the province in terms of education.
For example, its positive experience in easing the burden of excessive homework and off-campus tutoring for students was promoted in the province and financial aid work for poverty-stricken students also spearheaded such action elsewhere.
