The Jiangyan district of Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – is continuing efforts to protect and optimize its water resources, which have been undertaken in recent years.
The district has invested around 300 million yuan ($44.47 million) in protecting its rivers and lakes to date and these initiatives are widely said to be paying major dividends.
As evidence of that, grateful locals have only to check out the Taidong River and the Nangan River in Jiangyan district, which have just been awarded provincial honors for improvements to their ecosystems.
