Jiangyan pastry is a traditional snack originating in the Jiangyan district of Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – which is famous for its delicious odor and crispy texture.

Made of local wheat flour, the pastry is available all year round and comes in different sizes. The stuffing inside contains meat or vegetables and the flavor can be salty or sweet.

It has golden and crisp skin, as well as fresh and tender meat and the cooking technique for it has been included by the city in the list of its intangible cultural heritage.
