Responding to the workforce shortage being faced by resident enterprises, the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone, located in Taixing city, East China's Jiangsu province, has been optimizing its recruitment platform and boosting the process of bringing in new talent.
Last year, the zone conducted a recruitment survey, collecting requests for 124 new talent from local enterprises.
Efforts were then made by the zone to organize 24 enterprises to participate in campus recruitment fairs and hook up key enterprises with universities such as Jiangnan University and Changzhou University. The result was that 76 college graduates were recruited for enterprises last year.
"With the help and coordination of the zone, our company introduced 12 college students last year and plans to introduce 15 college students and one graduate student in the near future," said Sun Jianzhong, secretary of the Party branch of local manufacturer Jiangsu Dongfang Ninesky New Energy Materials.
To date, the zone has established 26 technology innovation platforms at the provincial level or above, one provincial-level public research institution, two provincial-level postdoctoral innovation practice bases and five provincial-level graduate workstations.
It has also joined hands with research institutes to build seven school-enterprise alliances, linking research teams and high-level talent resources from universities such as Tsinghua University, China Agricultural University and East China University of Science and Technology.
