The Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone – located in Taixing city, East China's Jiangsu province – has adapted to its local conditions and is targeting the fields of wind, light and electricity.

This move is being driven by the national dual carbon strategic goals, with the targets of peak carbon emissions before 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, bringing new development opportunities for the new energy industry that has been ushered in.

Local companies have responded to the challenges and opportunities. Thanks to continuous investment in technological upgrades, manufacturer Huierxin Machinery (Taixing) Co Ltd, for example, has increased its machining capacity by 15 percent compared with last year.

In recent years, it has scaled up its recruitment and increased its research and development investment, paving the way for its complete sets of intelligent wind power equipment being widely used.

The company's orders on hand are currently worth 1.5 billion yuan ($206.49 million), with deliveries scheduled to run until next March or April.

Meanwhile, at Jiansgu Sunpower Co Ltd, its Phase IV project is about to start operating. Having established itself in the zone in 2015, the company is engaged in the R&D of green and eco-friendly high-performance lithium-ion batteries.

Elsewhere, focused on the field of refined steel new materials for the past six years, Jiangsu Dongfang Ninesky New Energy Materials Co Ltd is currently the only business enterprise in China with a complete industry supply chain, from rolling, punching to surface treatments.
