Huangqiao town – located in Taixing city, in East China's Jiangsu province – recently issued development goals for the current year, including realizing ambitious industrial invoiced sales of 23.5 billion yuan ($3.28 billion).
Plans are for it to also pay industrial and commercial tax revenue of 1.25 billion yuan, with actual utilization of foreign investment coming at over $35 million.
In line with its stated mission of a high-quality integrated development of industry, city and tourism, Huangqiao posted industrial invoicing sales of 20.5 billion yuan in 2023 and it signed up 42 projects worth over 100 million yuan apiece. Four of these represented an investment of over 1 billion yuan each.
Focusing on its traditional industries of musical instruments, forklift trucks and textiles, Huangqiao remains focused on attracting high-quality businesses to settle in its small and medium-sized enterprise cluster for musical instruments.
It also aims to accelerate its construction of the first phase of the Liuchen forklift truck industry cluster project.
In particular, the town is gearing up to create one national-level intelligent demonstration factory and three provincial-level intelligent manufacturing demonstration workshops in the current year. It's also committed to adding 20 manufacturers above a designated size – those with an annual revenue of 20 million yuan – and cultivating three small giant enterprises.
