The Taizhou exhibitors had a superb first day, according to statistics, writing up transactions worth about $10 million by the close of business.
Occupying 238 stands at the fair, Taizhou exhibitors displayed household appliances, hardware tools, clothing accessories, textiles fabrics and other choice products.
"The fully on-site Canton Fair is an important platform for Taizhou companies to go global," said Tang Chi, an official from Taizhou's bureau of commerce.
Jiangsu Sunpower Co Ltd, situated in the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone, signed orders worth $500,000 with buyers from Iraq and India.
Zhongxing Electric Manufacturing Co, located in the Xinghua Economic Development Zone, brought its latest solar water pump products to the fair. These are widely used in such fields as agricultural irrigation, domestic water and drinking water.
"I have been participating in the Canton Fair for over a decade and there has never been a session where the number of customer inquiries on the first day is as high as today," said Shao Qiaomei, foreign trade manager of the Bondflex Sumeng Group, based in the Jiangyan Economic Development Zone.
Her company wrote up supply deals with seven companies and signed an order worth $2.6 million with European clients on-site.
The rush of business is the payback for all the pre-fair preparations the Taizhou exhibitors made – including the organizing and servicing work for booth declarations and training.
