A number of communities in the Jingtai Road sub-district in Hailing district, Taizhou city, situated in the eastern part of China's Jiangsu province, have converted the underutilized multipurpose rooms into activity rooms for residents to use since the beginning of this year.
Given that many retirees enjoy dancing, a residential complex in the Jindong community has converted an extra office into a dance studio. Over 100 dance training sessions have been held in this studio currently.
Chunjing community has established an activity room in the service center for home-based eldercare, hosting over 60 events, including tai chi classes and health consultations, attracting more than 800 residents to participate.
Taikang community has converted an unused office in a residential complex into an activity room, organizing 15 public welfare activities such as free haircuts, health lectures, and exhibitions of intangible cultural heritage. These activities have provided services for 2,685 residents.
