Despite the sweltering summer heat, the Jiangsu Huatai Precision Technology Company is just buzzing with activity.
Located in the Hailing Industrial Park – in the Hailing district of Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – this subsidiary of Suzhou Aikefu Electronics Co Ltd is said to be a key player in the city's smart manufacturing initiative.
Inside the production workshop, workers are hard at work, sweating profusely, as they work at full capacity to meet the mounting orders. The die-casting process is impressively fast – it takes just 25 seconds to melt alloy materials and form them into various components under 400 metric tons of pressure.

To cope with the heat, the company has introduced shift rotation for its workers and industrial robots to handle materials.
It's also moving toward full automation, with plans to install die-casting islands and improve the precision of the machines.
Currently, about 80 percent of Jiangsu Huatai's products – which include aluminum alloy parts for electric tools and appliances – are exported to major international brands, while the remaining 20 percent serve the domestic market.
Moving forward, the company will continue to focus on transformation and growth. It plans to invest in advanced equipment to produce one-piece molds for electric vehicle frames. Overall, it's aiming for a shift to high-end, digital and eco-friendly manufacturing.
