The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology recently unveiled its 2024 list of intelligent manufacturing factories in East China's Jiangsu province.
The high-efficiency monocrystalline BC solar cell intelligent factory operated by LONGi Solar Technology (Taizhou) Co Ltd – located in Taizhou city's Hailing Industrial Park – was included.
LONGi Solar Technology is a wholly owned subsidiary of LONGi Green Energy Technology Co Ltd, the world's biggest manufacturer of monocrystalline photovoltaic or solar power products.
It features state-of-the-art digital equipment, precise software integration and a research and development team. Currently, the company holds 759 patents and has contributed to establishing four industry standards.

The intelligent factory employs digital twin technology and artificial intelligence structured around three layers: An intelligent manufacturing production foundation, a transparent factory execution system and data analysis decision-making.
The smart manufacturing approach is said to have led to significant improvements – including a 27.9 percent increase in per capita output efficiency, an 11.42 percent boost in single-line cell production capacity and a 30 percent reduction in manufacturing costs.
Product quality has also improved, with a 4.9 percent increase in first-pass yield and a 10 percent decrease in the rate of defects.
