Solar power panel and component manufacturer LONGi Solar Technology (Taizhou) Co Ltd – which is based in the Hailing Industrial Park in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – has unveiled its latest endeavor in the field of photovoltaic technology.
The company's new 11.2-gigawatt photovoltaic component project has been equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and optimized production processes that are said to be able to deliver customized components with a conversion efficiency of up to 22.6 percent.
The project marks LONGi's third major initiative in Hailing Industrial Park after nine years of being based there.
Collaborating closely with the park's authorities, LONGi invested a total of 10 billion yuan ($1.38 billion) to establish three production bases and two research and development centers from 2015 to 2023.
Deputy General Manager Chen Kai is bullish about the project's progress.
He noted that since the beginning of the year, LONGi has been operating at full capacity, producing nearly 1 gw of photovoltaic components each month, with shipment volumes surpassing previous records.
LONGi's commitment to innovation and efficiency is reflected in its recent investments, totaling 2 billion yuan in the construction of 16 automated production lines for high-efficiency monocrystalline modules.
Last year saw a significant upgrade in the company's facilities, resulting in an increase of over 30 percent in production capacity and energy efficiency.
