An inspection team led by top officials from Taizhou city, located in East China's Jiangsu province, paid a visit on Jan 4 to three major project sites in the Hailing Industrial Park in Taizhou.
The 15-gigawatt-hour high-performance lithium-ion battery plant being funded and built by Jiangsu Chunlan Clean Energy Co Ltd features a total investment of 3 billion yuan ($420 million).
With more than 600 advanced sets of equipment – such as fully automatic pulping equipment – the project has the largest capacity among single production lines in its field nationwide.
Its productivity has increased by five times and the qualified rate of pulp production has now reached 99.9 percent.
Another major project on the go is a high-modulus and low-shrinkage polyester curtain fabric plant operated by Haiyang Technology Co Ltd, with a total investment of 500 million yuan.
After it goes into production, the company can reduce labor by 60 percent and reduce energy consumption by more than 40 percent. It's expected to produce 45,000 metric tons of high modulus low shrinkage polyester curtain fabrics annually, with annual sales hitting 800 million yuan.

The third venture is the semiconductor packaging materials Phase II project operated by Jiangsu Kchua New Materials Technology Co Ltd, with an investment of 520 million yuan.
The company is building a domestic advanced automated, informatized and intelligent epoxy plastic sealing materials production base.
At present, the project has been completed and gone into trial production. At full capacity, it's expected to produce 35,000 tons of semiconductor packaging materials annually, with a domestic market share exceeding 20 percent.
