This year, Jingtai Road sub-district in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province has aimed to implement 10 livelihood projects to give residents a greater sense of achievement.
The management of Ruotao River is one of those projects. It starts from Dazhai River and ends at Jichuan Road. Previously, due to the poor water flow and direct discharge of domestic sewage, the silt in the river channel accumulated and some river guardrails collapsed.
Through rectification and improvement measures, however, problems such as river sedimentation, poor water quality, and a disorderly environment will be improved. As of now, two-thirds of the project has been completed.
Three rivers in Jingtai Road sub-district have been conducting dredging and improvement projects this year. All will be completed on schedule.
In addition, the sub-district is expected to complete the construction of 1,100 charging stations for non-motorized vehicles in 18 residential areas, and eight charging stations for motor vehicles this year to make it more convenient for citizens to travel.
"I found many charging stations on the navigation app, and now I can find one in just a few minutes," said Li Naijun, who owns an electric vehicle.
