To observe the Double Ninth Festival that falls on Oct 23 this year, the Taishun community in Hailing district of Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province, hosted events for 160 local elderly people on Oct 17.
Inside the Yashan Pavilion, many of them had fun eating cakes and chatting with each other.
Wonderful artistic performances such as Xinjiang folk dance, hulusi (gourd flute) and folk singing were staged, all of which were warmly received.
In addition, the Taizhou Hospital of TCM conducted free orthopedic diagnosis services on-site. It also provided services like measuring people’s blood pressure and blood glucose levels.
"I spent a very enjoyable day there as the community is so vibrant and staged such a grand celebration for our old people. We all got to reunite like one big happy family," said an 88-year-old resident.
