The Taizhou Hailing (Beijing) Offshore Innovation Center was recently inaugurated in Beijing's Haidian, marking the unveiling of the first such center for Hailing district.
The center will integrate functions of technology research and development, business incubation, talent introduction and attracting sci-tech investment. It will aim to draw innovative and entrepreneurial personnel through its one-stop incubation system and integrated financial services.
When the incubation of projects reaches a mature stage, the center will be transferred to Hailing district to promote turning the fruit of all that scientific research into competitive products.
The center will construct an incubation and transformation system including offshore, inshore and onshore components. At the offshore end, it will establish professional teams to cooperate with universities, research institutions, sci-tech service organizations and major innovative platforms.
At the inshore end, it will leverage Taizhou's science and innovation center to construct a batch of accelerators and testing bases. Meanwhile, at the onshore end, it will promote the industrialization of projects in reference to 18 key zones in Taizhou.
In recent years, Hailing has focused on building offshore innovation centers. Another two in Shanghai and Nanjing – the provincial capital of Jiangsu – are now under construction.
Moving forwards, Hailing will provide customized services for projects that complete their incubation, and support their listing, as the district aims to become a highland for innovation and entrepreneurship in the Yangtze River Delta region.
