The district has prioritized four areas: new energy, automotive and motorcycle parts, smart home appliances, and the digital economy.

In 2024, the new energy sector reached a production value of 20 billion yuan ($2.8 billion). The output value of the automotive parts industry, involving over 100 enterprises in the district, has grown to nearly 10 billion yuan. The smart home appliance sector, led by LG Electronics' major refrigerator production base, saw a production value of approximately 15 billion yuan. The digital economy is also thriving, with key enterprises like Jiangsu Yunyong Electronics and Technology and 360 (Taizhou) Digital Technology driving growth.

Hailing district is committed to upgrading its industrial landscape. Last year, Taizhou Kangqian Mechanical Manufacturing invested 1 billion yuan in a smart green production line, enhancing both efficiency and customer satisfaction. Zhu Ping, head of the company's workshop, said that the integration of a digital management system into the traditional workshop has helped boost the company's innovative development.

The district has established one national-level enterprise technology center and 17 such centers at the provincial level, while also nurturing a host of innovative small and medium-sized enterprises, including 10 national "little giant" enterprises.

Wang Yuanchang, director of Hailing district's industry and information technology bureau, emphasized that the district will promote intelligent, green, and integrated development to further enhance industrial capabilities and achieve new breakthroughs in digital transformation, contributing to the district's high-quality growth.
