Construction was recently stepped up on the 5GWh annual integrated smart energy storage lithium battery system project in Taizhou's new energy industrial park, located in Hailing district, Taizhou, East China's Jiangsu province.
According to site supervisor Xia Guixiang, "As of now, the project's pile foundation is fully complete, with two guardhouses and the power distribution room topped off. Additionally, the excavation for the basement of the No 1 office building is also finished."
"It is expected to be completed in August 2025 and fully operational in September," said Xia.
The project has a total investment of 500 million yuan ($69.02 million) and covers an area of 47 mu (3.13 hectare), with a planning construction area of 38,000 square meters.
The project will focus on the R&D, production, and sales of lithium iron phosphate energy storage battery integrated systems. Once fully operational, it is expected to achieve an annual production capacity of 5GWh of cells and 5GWhPACK, with an annual turnover of 1 billion yuan.
"In addition to its prime location and favorable policies, what truly stands out is the park's rich resources, robust industrial ecosystem, and conducive business environment. The park's team is super professional, and it was a major factor that swayed our decision to choose this location," emphasized the person in charge of the project.
