China's biggest State-owned IT enterprise, Beijing-based China Electronics Corporation (CEC), is planning to establish production facilities in Hailing district of Taizhou city, located in East China's Jiangsu province.
The aim is to erect an advanced intelligent manufacturing hub in Hailing district.
The move was announced at a project launch ceremony on July 19, with the CEC New Quality Productive Forces Alliance unveiled the same day.
A first group of 14 business enterprises have joined the alliance, covering such fields as the digital economy, new energy and integrated circuits.
With a total investment of 12 billion yuan ($1.65 billion), CEC's intelligent manufacturing facility will focus on advanced manufacturing fields such as new energy, new materials, electronics information and high-end equipment.
Lu Zhipeng, CEC's deputy general manager, said his company chose to invest in Taizhou because of its great geographical location and favorable development environment.
He said his company looked forwards to boosting links with Taizhou, Hailing and enterprises based there to help jointly create an innovative, collaborative and win-win industry ecosystem.
