Engaged in the production of printing plates, Jiangsu Yuanrui Digital Technology Co Ltd – based in Hailing district of Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province – has developed a non-treatment printing plate technology that breaks the domestic dependence on imports.
The materials used in computer-to-plate or CTP – the imaging technology used in modern printing processes – are among the most conventional and important consumables in the printing industry.
At present, the most widely used are thermal sensitive CTP plates.
However, the non-treatment CTP plate being produced by the company is said to improve production efficiency and shorten the plate-making cycle, as well as boasting close to zero pollution.
"Traditional CTP plates must be developed and rinsed with chemicals, but our product can be washed off with water without treatment, making printing more environmentally friendly," said Han Yingchao, research and development manager of the company.
As early as 2018, the company established the Jiangsu Environmental Protection Printing Plate Engineering Technology Research Center and began the R&D of non-treatment printing plates.
The product is now exported to over 40 countries, with sales abroad accounting for 30-40 percent of the total sales volume.
The company currently has two high-speed automatic roll printing board production lines, which can achieve an annual output of 30 million square meters.
With the continuous increase in orders, the company will build two new production lines next year.
