The Hailing district of Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – recently held a news conference to promote its agricultural modernization.

The news conference focused on introducing the comprehensive implementation of the rural vitalization strategy in the district, promoting high-quality and efficient agriculture and improving the quality of life of farmers in rural areas.
In recent years, Hailing is widely said to have made significant improvements in its agricultural production capacity. This includes the establishment of high-standard farmland, increasing the grain sowing area and achieving high yields.
The district has also successfully covered a large percentage of its rice planting area with local varieties.
Agricultural science and technology support has been strengthened through the establishment of expert service teams and research institutions, as well as the implementation of research projects.
The district has also focused on optimizing the agricultural industrial system – by developing leading specialist industries and promoting industrial integration.
Additionally, the quality of local agricultural products has improved, while efforts have been made to improve the rural ecosystem and environment, farmers' housing conditions and the development of characteristic idyllic villages.
