Officials from the Hailing district in Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – paid a visit to local enterprises operating in the health sector on May 22, to learn about the progress being made in specific projects and in industry's overall development.
To date, the main structure of the new Taizhou Rehabilitation Hospital, which will cost 148 million yuan ($20.82 million), has been capped and the contractors will now move on to internal work and the procurement of health equipment.
The Hailing officials also visited the premises of wheelchair manufacturer Zhongjin Medical Taizhou Co Ltd. There, they gained a detailed understanding of its product research and development, innovation, production and sales, as well as the quality control of the company.

The company produces 100,000 wheelchairs every year, with 80 percent of output exported.
Elsewhere, Jiangsu Jiyuan Medical Technology Co Ltd, with a market share in some of its products ranked number one in China, specializes in developing medical endoscopes and support equipment.
Hailing District Director Liu Jianbo called on the company to keep on track with developing its cutting-edge technology and bringing in top personnel.
Liu also wanted it to extend links and joint ventures with various related research institutes, to improve their combined research and innovation capabilities and promote the commercialization of research achievements.
